Welcome
to Mrs. Kats'
Web Site
Mrs. Kats
- I was born in Boston, Massachusetts.
- I grew up in Burbank.
- I attended Reavis High School.
- I graduated from Illinois State University.
- I received a Masters of Art in Teaching
and Learning from Nova Southeastern University, FL in 2002
- Some of my favorite things to do are
reading, quilting, gardening, meeting friends for lunch, and bird
watching in my backyard. Every spring we fill the bird feeders
hoping to see new varieties that haven't visited before.
- My husband and I have 5 children,
and we have 9 grandchildren with 2 more on the way by fall.
-
My favorite animal is a beagle, and I've had
three (so far).
Professional
Information
-
I have taught a developmental class in Copenhagen,
New York ( a small town 30 miles from Canada). I have been a teacher
at Hometown School for 12 years, fifth and third grade.
-
I teach at Hometown School, yes, Hometown, Illinois!!
-
Currently, I'm teaching grade 3.
-
We spend a great deal of our time reading and
responding to everything we read! We have some fun hands-on book
reports and some great pen pals in England. We often illustrate our
thoughts in every subject. It's a great place to learn.
-
There aren't many rules, but they sure are important!
-
1. Raise your hand during class to share
information.
-
2. Follow directions.
-
3. Keep hands, feet, and all objects to
yourself.
-
4. Complete your work on time.
-
5. No teasing - No rudeness - No bad language.
-
Good Reading? Try Children's Book of
Virtues, Sarah, Plain and Tall, and any of Robert Munsch's books.
