"Connections is a fun class.  In Connections you relate your core classes to real life situations." -Brian L.

Welcome to a new school year! We are pleased to open the second year of the Connections class with our new website. We hope you find the page helpful and informative.

Both seventh and eighth grade students open the school year studying the concepts of teamwork. This unit provides opportunities for students to develop, experience and strengthen the group skills that are fundamental in this class, in school and in life.

We begin by identifying our own learning and behavior styles and understanding how these styles affect the way that individuals interact with others.

We then will discuss goal setting and how this affects both personal and cooperative outcomes.

Next, we will examine the concept of conflict and practice conflict resolution strategies.

Last, we learn to effectively evaluate our performance through thorough and honest reflection.

Our hope is that students complete the unit with a sense of the importance of good communication and recognize the value of working together.
