Science Center Weather Information

Students are encouraged to view one of the 3 display modules placed at different locations throughout the Science Center when they visit. They can come into the building and check the day’s temperature, heat index or wind chill, wind speed and direction, dew points, the amount of light in the sky, and total rainfall for the day, month and year.

Specialized equipment is mounted on our rooftop to collect data and display our “real time” weather information. The Science Center is part of the NBC Channel 5 Weathernet Network.
Our site is frequently mentioned on the staion’s live broadcasts by their reporting meteorologists.
