HELEN WHALEN HIGHER EDUCATION
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Presented by the Oak Lawn – Hometown PTA Council

The Oak Lawn – Hometown PTA Council is proud to announce they will be awarding four (4) $500.00 scholarships this year. These scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who:

• Attended an elementary school in District 123 for at least four (4) years, other than kindergarten.
• Are in the upper 25% of their class
• Plan to attend an accredited institution of higher education

The qualifications which the committee considers important in judging the application and selecting the winners are:

• Desire for higher education
• High scholastic standing
• Good character
• Leadership ability

Applications will also be available from the scholarship counselor in area high schools and at the Oak Lawn – Hometown District Office. Completed applications and their requirements must reach the scholarship chairperson on or before March 16th, 2012, either by mailing or dropping off.
