A SYNOPSIS OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
OAK LAWN-HOMETOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT 123 BOARD OF EDUCATION.
A residency hearing was held in closed session and convened at 6:30 p.m. The open meeting was held at the Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School (OLHMS) Cafetorium and called to order at 7:45 p.m.
Special Presentation - Emergency Response Crisis Management (ERMC)
Leanne DeHaan provided a status report on the District 123 Emergency Operations Plan and displayed flipchart procedural guides for schools, parent brochures, and a sample administrator emergency go-kit and its contents.
Paul Enderle discussed goals, outlined the ongoing process of conducting a security audit each spring, and highlighted the ERCM training that will be conducted for all staff during the Inservice Day on April 17, 2007.

- 2007 Summer School will be held at Covington. Anna Schultz will be the summer school coordinator this year.

- Early Childhood program designation considered to be one of only two programs in the state that have qualified for a “special” level designation

Tabled – Action to revise and adopt select existing School Board policies
THE BOARD TOOK THE FOLLOWING ACTION:
- Approved the minutes of February 26, 2007
- Approved the closed session minutes of February 26, 2007
- Approved resignations of Jill Gedraitis and Natalie Prosser, effective June, 2007
- Approved the reemployment of first, second, or third year probationary teachers, Beth Lyons and Margaret Martire, for the 2007-2008 school year
- Approved the IMRF Early Retirement Incentive language
- Approved the two vehicle sales to highest bidders
- Approved the Hannum roof bid from National Roofing Corporation in the amount of $253,770
- Approved the list of bills as presented, the Fund Reconciliation Report, the summary financial reports, and the payroll in the amount of $2,006,629.78
The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be held on Monday, April 23, 2007, at the Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School, 5345 W. 99th Street, Oak Lawn, Illinois.
