A SYNOPSIS OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
OAK LAWN-HOMETOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT 123 BOARD OF EDUCATION.
 

The meeting was held in the Training Center and called to order at 7:00 p.m.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

CANVASS OF THE NOVEMBER 5, 2002 ELECTION

The votes of the November 5, 2002 referendum election were canvassed by the board.

THE BOARD TOOK THE FOLLOWING ACTION:

• Approved the canvass of the November 5, 2002 election
Referendum YES No
Building Bond ($25 million) 6,262 5,241
Education Tax Rate (65 cents) 5,137 5,952
Dr. Paziotopoulos thanked all of the volunteers and voters who supported the referendums. District 123 will again place the education tax rate referendum on the ballot in April. In the meantime, the board and administration must develop contingency plans for various scenarios.
On behalf of the board, Mr. Boyle expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all the referendum volunteers who gave their time, energy, and talents to this referendum campaign.

The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.

The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2002 at the Administration Center, 4201 West 93rd Street, Oak Lawn, Illinois.
