A SYNOPSIS OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE

Special Presentation - Patrick Adams, 2003 Summer School

Patrick Adams presented a brief overview of the 2003 Summer School, which will be housed at Sward School. The length of the program for students will be June 16 thru July 24. A portion of Brandt & Hometown School will be used for the Oak Lawn Park District programs and McGugan Junior High for the sport camps.

Special Presentation - Andrew McCall, Concept 3 Architect

Middle School Update

Andrew McCall presented a comprehensive overview of the latest architectural drawings of the new middle school. The plan has grown to three stories and approximately 143,000 sq. ft. He reviewed the plans, floor by floor, wing by wing, and, in some cases, room by room. He discussed timelines. Ideally, the project should be put out to bid in August, 2003; with ground breaking November, 2003; and occupancy at the beginning of the 2005-2006 school year. Dr. Paziotopoulos commented that the vision of a new 123 middle school ... the signature project ... is becoming a reality ... it's ambitious ... and so exciting.
