A SYNOPSIS OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE
OAK LAWN-HOMETOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT 123 BOARD OF
EDUCATION.
The closed session convened at 6:30 p.m. Open session was held in the Board Room and called to order at 6:35 p.m.
Gymnasium Construction Discussion
Mr. Tom Doherty, of Doherty Construction, general contractor and low bidder for the gymnasium construction of Hannum and Kolmar schools was present.
Mr. Andrew McCall, Concept 3 architect, presented a review of construction costs.
Dr. Paziotopoulos continued the review of costs, with a breakdown of cost per square foot, construction cost differences between the buildings, liquidated damages clause, etc.
October 10, 2003 was established as the completion date for new construction and August 26, 2003 for completion of the remodeling construction.
THE BOARD TOOK THE FOLLOWING ACTION:
• Approved the low bid meeting specifications from Doherty Construction for Hannum and Kolmar gym construction projects in the amount of $2,871,000.
The meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm.
The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be held on Tuesday*, May 27, 2003, at 7:30 p.m. in the Training Center.
*Note the change from the usual Monday meeting to Tuesday in order to avoid a conflict with the Memorial Day holiday.
