A SYNOPSIS OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
OAK LAWN-HOMETOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT 123 BOARD OF EDUCATION.

The closed session convened at 7:00 p.m. Open session was held in the Training Center and called to order at 7:30 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Special Presentation - Building Plans for Oak Lawn High School

Dr. James Briscoe, Supt. #229 OLCHS

Dr. James Briscoe, Superintendent of Oak Lawn Community High School #229, addressed the issue of District #229 submitting a proposition to the voters concerning the building of a new high school and the issuance of bonds not to exceed $66,000,000 at the general primary election to be held on March 16, 2004.

Summer School 2004 Update - location will be Hannum

Requests for additional personnel for the remainder of 03-04 due to increased student needs

THE BOARD TOOK THE FOLLOWING ACTION:

• Approved the minutes of December 15, 2003
• Approved the closed session minutes of December 15, 2003
• Authorized release of the closed session minutes of December 16, 2002, June 23, 2003, September 22, 2003, and October 27, 2003 to the public; and that the closed session minutes of April 7, 2003, April 28, 2003, May 7, 2003, May 27, 2003, and August 25, 2003 remain closed
• Approved employment of personnel, 2003-04
Coffman, Sarah - Auxiliary Teacher at Covington effective 1/5/04
• Approved unpaid temporary disability leave for Elizabeth Koradzich, school bus driver
• Approved resignation of Tracy Mathias, Instructional Assistant in the TPI program at Hannum School
• Adopted the No Child Left Behind Resolution
• Approved the rental of available classrooms at Kolmar School for the A.E.R.O. Special Education Cooperative 2004 Summer School Program
• Approved the Excavation & Concrete Change Order #1 and Change Order #2 for the new Oak Lawn Hometown Middle School
• Approved the list of bills as presented, the Fund Reconciliation Report, the summary financial reports, and the payroll in the amount of $3,172,575.24

The meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m.

The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be held on Monday, February 23, 2004, at the Administration Center, 4201 West 93rd Street, Oak Lawn, Illinois.
