A SYNOPSIS OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
OAK LAWN-HOMETOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT 123 BOARD OF EDUCATION.
The meeting was convened at 5:00 p.m. at District Office.
The Board and Administrators were transported by bus to the Oak Lawn-Hometown
Middle School to Tour the Construction Site. They returned to District Office
to conduct business as per agenda ...
The meeting was reconvened at 7:30 p.m. in the Training Center.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
Special Presentation - Hannum School Improvement Plan
Mary
Ann Grice, Principal
Mary Ann Grice presented a comprehensive School Improvement Plan for Hannum
School for the 2004-2005 school year. The report included information, such
as demographics, enrollment, mobility rates, state assessment, and local assessment
data.
THE BOARD HEARD FROM THE ADMINISTRATION REGARDING:
- Buildings and Grounds Report
- Construction update
- Insurance response to joist repairs, change orders, etc.
- Preliminary 2004 tax levy
- Medallion Before & After School update
- Annual Audit (McGladrey & Pullen) for the year ending
June 30, 2004
- TPI Program Update/Staffing change
- Half-day Inservice -- October 25, 2004
- Institute Day Design -- November 2, 2004 -- Wellness Day
- Professional development for TPI and special education teachers
- H.E.L.P. Workshops
- Articulation with Districts 122 and 229
- Thank you note received from Peace River School, FL, for donation
of books
(Overnite Transportation Company provided free delivery of books
to Florida.)
- Teacher Tuition Reimbursements
- Discussion of current school board policies regarding advertising
- State Report Cards are pending
- Hannum PTA sidewalk request
- Dr. Robert Hecks (#123 resident and Foundation
trustee) concerns about the proposed fitness room equipment for the
new Middle School

THE BOARD TOOK THE FOLLOWING
ACTION:
- Approved the minutes of September 27, 2004
- Approved resignation of Joyce Franzese, Sp Ed Instructional
Aide at Hannum
- Approved employment of certified personnel, 2004-05 school
year
McNerney, Megan - Reclassified as Auxiliary Teacher at Hometown & Sward
- Approved employment of educational support personnel, 2004-2005
Kolb, Rachel - Technology Assistant at Hannum
Lopez, Miriam - Instructional Aide in the TPI program at Hometown
Marshall, Donna - Teacher Aide at Hannum
- Approved the 2005 Illinois School Library Grant
- Adopted the preliminary 2004 Tax Levy
- Approved four (4) Change Orders for the new Middle School
- Approved the list of bills as presented, the Fund Reconciliation
Report, the summary financial reports, and the payroll in the amount of $2,718,389.21
The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 p.m.

22, 2004, at the Administration Center, 4201 West 93rd Street, Oak Lawn, Illinois.
