A SYNOPSIS OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
OAK LAWN-HOMETOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT 123 BOARD OF EDUCATION.
The meeting convened at 7:30 p.m. at District Office.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Special Presentation - Kolmar School Improvement Plan
Robert Steffen, Principal
- Robert Steffen presented a comprehensive School Improvement
Plan for Kolmar School for the 2004-2005 school year. The report included
information, such as demographics, enrollment, mobility rates, state assessment,
and local assessment data.

- Covington "North" Kindergarten program update

- National Science Teachers' Association Conference in Indianapolis
- Holiday program schedule
- Congratulations to Lyle and Jennifer Neal on the birth of
their son, Andrew
- American Education Week, Nov. 14 - 20, 2004
- Oak Lawn Library focus group session
- Construction of an additional sidewalk at Hannum School will
not be initiated, as per mutual agreement between Administration and Hannum
PTA
- ROE proposal for fingerprint based background checks
- AERO has selected James Gunnell to replace retiring James
Duffy
- Sward School - Safe & Peaceable Schools program - Mrs.
Gloodt and some parents were featured in a recent WGN TV interview

THE BOARD TOOK THE FOLLOWING ACTION:
- Approved the minutes of October 25, 2004
- Approved resignation of M. Buckley and J. Thompson
- Approved employment of educational support personnel, 2004-2005
C. Dugan and C. Smith
- Accepted the 2003-2004 Audit, Single Audit, and Management
Letter
- Adopted revisions to school board policies
- #825 Community Instructional Resources - Commercial Agencies
- #860.02 Relations with Community Organizations - School/Business
Partnerships
- Appointed the Superintendent's Administrative Assistant, Ursula
Ehretsman, as the Secretary of the Board of Education's designee for purposes
of receiving nomination petitions and other documents required of candidates
for the election on April 5, 2005
- Approved the bid from American Building Systems of Illinois
for Sward Roof Replacement work in the amount of $440,500
- Approved the list of bills as presented, the Fund Reconciliation
Report, the summary financial reports, and the payroll in the amount of $3,150,532.33
The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m.

on Monday, December 13, 2004, at the Administration Center, 4201 West 93rd Street,
Oak Lawn, Illinois.
