A SYNOPSIS OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
OAK LAWN-HOMETOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT 123 BOARD OF EDUCATION.

The closed session convened at 7:00 p.m. Open session was held in the Training Center and called to order at 7:40 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Special Presentation - Hometown Construction Project - Summer 2005
                                  Andrew McCall, Architect

Andrew McCall outlined the plans for the addition and remodeling project at Hometown School for summer 2005. Plans include the construction of a new multi-purpose room, additional classroom and storage space, relocation of the Kindergarten classrooms, moving the Library to the Kindergarten pod, a redesigned front entrance, and a new roof.

Special Presentation - McGugan Junior High School Improvement Plan
                                  Andrea Anderson, Principal

Andrea Anderson presented a comprehensive School Improvement Plan for McGugan Junior High for the 2004-2005 school year. The report included information, such as longitudinal demographics, enrollment figures, mobility rates, school characteristics, educator data, state assessment, and local assessment data. She explained why McGugan failed to meet AYP (subgroup - students with disabilities) and outlined the actions plans relevant to No Child Left Behind legislation.
