A SYNOPSIS OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
OAK LAWN-HOMETOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT 123 BOARD OF EDUCATION.
The closed session convened at 7:00 p.m. The open meeting was held at the Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School (OLHMS) Cafetorium and called to order at 7:35 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
The Public Hearing of 2005 Tax Levy was conducted.
THE BOARD HEARD FROM THE ADMINISTRATION REGARDING:
- Buildings and Grounds report
- Brandt Reconstruction
- Children’s Health & Fun Fair - 2/25/06 from 11:00 - 3:00 p.m.
- 52nd Avenue - seven-house subdivision plan
- Life Safety, 10-year survey
- FOIA request - IEA - support staff contract
- School Improvement Planning - consultant plans
- New DuPage/West Cook Articles of Agreement
- United Way/Educational Foundation Annual Campaign results
- School Holiday Programs
- Dr. Frederickson - “Give Kids a Smile Day”
- Board Member school visitation recap - 12/5/05
- IASB Policy Manual Development - Kathleen McCord outlined the various options regarding the IASB policy services, such as policy manual revision, customization, and maintenance; policy consulting services; and posting board policies online.
THE BOARD TOOK THE FOLLOWING ACTION:
- Approved the minutes of November 28, 2005
- Approved the employment of Ann Klioris - Instructional Assistant at Kolmar School in the EC program
- Approved the 2005-2006 Application for Recognition of Schools
- Approved the Ten-Year Life Safety Survey Report
- Adopted the 2005 Certificate of Tax Levy in the amount of $25,502,440
- Adopted the Tax Levy Resolution, 2005 - Working Cash Fund
- Adopted the Tax Levy Resolution, 2005 - Fire Prevention and Safety Purposes
- Approved the Certificate of Compliance with the Truth in Taxation Act
- Adopted the Resolution Allocating Tax Levy to Individual Funds of the District- Property Tax Extension Limitation Law
- Approved the DuPage/West Cook revised Articles of Agreement
- Approved the IASB School Board Policy Services
- Approved the list of bills as presented, the Fund Reconciliation Report, the summary financial reports, and the payroll in the amount of $1,821,211.53
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be held on Monday, January 23, 2006, at the Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School, 5345 W. 99th Street, Oak Lawn, Illinois.
