A SYNOPSIS OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
OAK LAWN-HOMETOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT 123 BOARD OF EDUCATION.
The closed session convened at 7:00 p.m. The open meeting was held at the Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School (OLHMS) Cafetorium and called to order at 7:30 p.m.
Special Presentations - District 123 Emergency Response Crisis Management (ERCM)
Leanne DeHaan, Director of Student Services, and Paul Enderle, Associate Principal of OLHMS, provided background information about the National Incident Management System (NIMS), a comprehensive approach to incident management, and a timeline for implementation.
THE BOARD HEARD FROM THE ADMINISTRATION REGARDING:
- Annual Audit 2006 - additional reports from McGladrey & Pullen CPA
- Serious Safety Hazards adjustment - Southwest Highway as a single hazard (not double)
- Aflac - Union will survey staff to determine the level of interest before informational meetings are scheduled
- Financial Advisory Committee - 1st meeting 11/15/06; 2 nd meeting 1/17/07
- Buildings and Grounds Report
- Construction update
- ISAT 2006 results have been delayed
- Just5Clicks Student Achievement Data Management System
- November Professional Development opportunities

- School District 123 Holiday Program dates
- Kathleen McCord acknowledged Karen Harnedy for all of the work she did at the Science Center over the years.
THE BOARD TOOK THE FOLLOWING ACTION:
- Approved the minutes of October 23, 2006
- Approved the closed session minutes of October 23, 2006

Paski, Chris - Brandt School Secretary
- Approved serious safety hazards for children being transported within School District 123 boundaries (revised - Hometown only)
- Approved the 2001 and 2002 tax rate objections settlement as discussed in closed session
- Approved the purchase of Just5Clicks data management system software
- Approved the appointment of Ursula Ehretsman and Sandy Roberts as designated representatives of the Board of Education Secretary for purposes of receiving nomination petitions and other documents required of candidates for membership on the Board of Education to be voted for at the election on April 17, 2007
- Approved Memorandum of Understanding - revised Sick Leave Bank
- Approved the list of bills as presented, the Fund Reconciliation Report, the summary financial reports, and the payroll in the amount of $3,396,204.07
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
