A SYNOPSIS OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
OAK LAWN-HOMETOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT 123 BOARD OF EDUCATION.
The closed session convened at 6:45 p.m. The open meeting was held at the Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School (OLHMS) Cafetorium and called to order at 7:30 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
Special Presentation - Everyday Math
Sheila Lettiere, Sward School, updated the Board regarding the Everyday Math program. The 2005-2006 school year was the third year of Everyday Math in District 123.
Foreign Language Program DVD
A DVD created by the OLHMS foreign language teachers was shown at the meeting. The 2005-2006 school year was the first year of a dual foreign language program that offered students the option of learning either French or Spanish.

- Authorized a public hearing of the amended 2005-06 budget on June 26, 2006 with the budget on public display beginning May 23, 2006 in the Administrative Center
- Adopted resolution setting the public hearing on June 26, 2006 for the transfer of monies from the Transportation fund to the Education Fund and to the Operations and Maintenance Fund
- Approved bid meeting specifications for custodial supplies for the 2006-2007 school year from Kranz/Bolotin in the amount of $25,548.82
- Approved student fees for 2006-2007
- Approved the AERO 2006-07 budget
- Approved the 2006-2007 salaries for the following District 123 Non-Bargaining Unit Employees:

- Approved the list of bills as presented, the Fund Reconciliation Report, the summary financial reports, and the payroll in the amount of $2,534,178.23
The meeting was adjourned at 8:18 p.m.
A special meeting of the Board of Education was scheduled for Tuesday, June 6, 2006 to approve an addendum to the collective bargaining agreement regarding teacher retirement.
The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be held on Monday, June 26, 2006, at the Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School, 5345 W. 99th Street, Oak Lawn, Illinois.
