From the Principal..
I would like to take this opportunity to THANK all the families, the PTO, and the local business’ who donated items, made delicious food, and took the time this week to celebrate the Covington Staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. I especially want to thank the following parents who organized the events and did all the leg work to make this week really special for our staff. Thank you to Jennifer Worthy, Gayna Driscoll, Noelle Ryan, Jennifer Gallagher, and Debra Licursi-Brandt.
Covington students and staff will participate in an off-site evacuation drill on Wednesday 5/16, conditions permitting. This is a safety drill during which everyone will leave the building and walk to another nearby location for “safety”. We need to practice this type of drill, as we need to practice all of our safety drills. The police and fire departments have been notified and will be available to observe and critique if their duties permit.
We have an Educational Foundation Raffle Basket in the office with Covington Spirit Wear, Free Yearbook, an Entertainment Book, PTO Membership, Lunch with the Principal and 4 front row seats to the Music Program. Tickets are $1.00 each, 6 for $5.00 or 15 for $10.00. The drawing will be held at the Golf Outing on June 14th.
The prices for student lunches for the next school year 2012/2013 have gone up slightly. The new lunch price is $2.25. The breakfast $1.40 and milk .55 have stayed the same price.
