Earth Day & The Lorax

On Monday, April 22nd, in celebration of Earth Day we read the story The Lorax. Students wrote about what they would do to help the Earth modeling themselves after The Lorax.

Our Leprechaun Traps

Students designed and built a leprechaun trap utilizing their knowledge of simple machines. This project was completed at home, students then presented their design and explained to the class how their trap worked.

Famous African Americans Projects

Students were given 2-3 weeks to research a famous African American and tell about this person's greatest accomplishments and how our lives are better because of this person. Students were given "optional challenge activities" such as: dress as your person, bring in a prop, make a poster, or bring in a book, magazine or newspaper article about your person. It was amazing the effort that students put into these projects. I am so proud of them!
