Student Lunches

A lunch program is available at all schools.

Lunches are planned to provide nourishment and variety. Every meal follows the nutritional guidelines set forth by the National School Lunch Program. Each meal will consist of 2 ounces of protein, 8fl. ounces of milk, 2 servings of fruit and/or vegetables and 2-3 servings of breads. The federal guidelines require that each meal contains 1/3 of the Recommended Daily Allowance of calories, with less than 30% of the calories from fat, and less than 10% of the calories from saturated fat.

Student lunches cost $2.00. Families of students who qualify under federal income guidelines may obtain reducedcost or free lunches for their children. Families must apply for this program.

Milk may be purchased by students who bring their lunches. Student milk costs 55 cents.
