Introduction
Oak Lawn School District
123 students in grades K-6th visit the Oak
Lawn Science Center for hands-on science instruction. Kindergarten
and 1st grade students attend the Science Center one time a month for three
40 minute lessons. Students in 2nd grade through 6th grade attend the
Science Center twice a month for four 55 minute lessons. The Science Center
Staff along with the classroom teachers provide meaningful hands-on science
lessons that meet the Illinois
Learning Standards.
Task
Teachers are asked to find one of each of
the following to use in their classrooms with their students. They
will then save these as a bookmark and use a rubric to evaluate the effectiveness
of their tasks.
