Overview: Students will practice map skills by locating the 7 continents using an on-line adventure website.

Purpose: To help students identify or locate the 7 continents.

Resources and Materials: Social Studies atlas The Nystrom Block Buddy Atlas, map of the world worksheet

Activities:
1. Go to http://iknowthat.com/com website and click on Social Studies, Label Maps, then Continents and Oceans.
2. Students can drag the name of the continent to the correct location on the map. If correct a fact about that continent will be read to them. If incorrect, they can try again.
3. When done with the map, they can complete a map worksheet on their own locating the continents on their own.

Evaluation: Students should complete the map worksheet and turn it in. Teacher can observe students performance of activity and completion of the worksheet.
