Title: The Supersoaker Inventors!
Subject: Social Studies/Language Arts
Grade Level: 4-8

Overview: Students will choose an African American Inventor to research

Objective: Students will research one of the ten inventors and share information through an informative pamphlet.

Procedure
1. Group students by in pairs or trios--enough to research 10 African-American Inventors. Once they have looked through the site have them decide whom they would like to research further.
2. Have the children research the inventor with the use of a web.
3. After finding all the information that is necessary, the team of students will design a pamphlet about the inventor.
4. Make enough copies of pamphlets so each child can be reading one. Give them a certain period of time and then have them switch pamphlets for another they have not already read.
5. End with an exit sheet on who they may have thought was the most interesting or most important and why.
