Title: Ad-Libs
Subject:
Grammar/Parts of Speech
Grade Level: 3rd Grade

Overview: The students will receive practice using different parts of speech.

Purpose: To demonstrate the students’ knowledge of the various parts of speech.

Resources and Materials: Internet

Internet Address: http://www.eduplace.com/tales/index.html

Activities:
1. Discussions about the different parts of speech should be on-going.
2. Review the parts of speech before presenting this lesson.
3. Put the Wacky Web Tales website up on the television screen.
4. Do one tale together as a whole group.  Click on any tale.  You will be asked to fill in the parts of speech.
When you are finished you will click the button that says “See your Wacky Web Tale.”
5.  The students will choose their own Wacky Web Tale to work on.  There are about 45 of them so they shouldn’t do the one that was done as a group.
6. Have students print out the parts of speech page and their Wacky Web Tale.
7. After everyone has made their own Wacky Web Tale, they can be collected and made into a class book.

Evaluation: The teacher can collect the parts of speech pages the students printed out to see if they have entered the correct part of speech.
