Curriculum Mini-Lessons
Title: Anatomy Hotlist
Subject: Anatomy, Science
Grade Level: 4-8
Objectives:
Students will have a better understanding of the content related to a particular unit, in this case, an anatomy unit. Hotlists are a technology tool that allow for reinforcement of current objectives as well as expansion of theme.
Resources and Materials:
Computers with Internet access are needed. The hotlist itself should also be accessible to students, placed on the desktop of each computer, in a server folder or linked on a website.
Activities:
A hotlist is a hyperlinked list of sites that correlate to a topic. This particular list contains sites for an anatomy unit. Hotlists can be used to help differentiate a lesson. In this instance, it is used both as a reference guide and for those students who may complete an activity ahead of schedule. On this particular list, all activities are linked to interactive sites, which are intended to increase engagement and interest in the theme.
To make you own hotlist, begin by choosing a theme. Select sites the meet your needs, choosing those sites that are grade appropriate for your students. To create a hyperlink in Word, go to Insert>hyperlink, then type or paste the link in the appropriate field.
