Title: Simple Machines Scavenger Hunt
Subject: Science
Grade Level: 4

Curriculum Objectives:
Students will review concepts of simple machines. They will practice identifying simple machines and their uses. They will demonstrate this by answering questions, matching simple machines with their pictures, and identifying simple machines in given pictures.

Resources and Materials:
See attached Scavenger Hunt hotlist sheet.

Activities:
Students click on an Appleworks document that contains directions and hotlisted links which will lead them to a variety of sites, some of which are interactive. The sites are all the stops they need to make on their scavenger hunt to locate information and complete activities about simple machines. This scavenger hunt can serve as a useful tool for a review of this unit of study.

Advance Preparation:
______ Locate and select appropriate websites.
______ Creat a hotlist on Appleworks document and save it to the 4th grade file.
______ Prepare a questionnaire to be completed by students as they hunt for information. (optional)
