Title: Puzzled States
Subject: Social Studies
Grade Level: Third Grade PTP

Curriculum Objectives: The students will identify the location of all the 50 states based upon the size and shape.

Activity: The students will play “Puzzled States”. This is an internet based game that requires the students to place the state in the correct location on a blank map. When they are correct, the student will see the state name, state motto and an object that is representative of that state pop up. Before the students are working independently the teacher should demonstrate the game to the class to ensure understanding of the task.

End Product: The students will practice putting states in the proper location on a map. Later they will take a test over the locations of the fifty states.

Pre-Teaching: The students should be introduced to the map of the United States and where all fifty states are located.
