Title: Kangaroo Alphabet Fun!
Subject:
Language Arts
Grade Level: Kindergarten

Overview: To develop early reading and language skills, students need exposure to letter identification. Students will engage in an interactive activity that requires them to match upper and lower case letters.

Purpose: To help students recognize and name all uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet.

Resources and Materials: Theme related alphabet books; including A My Name Is ..., Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and Kipper’s A to Z.

Activities:
    1. Students will play an educational computer-based game that allows them to practice the alphabet skills they are learning in the classroom.
    2. Students will gain extra computer practice by using the mouse in this interactive audio activity. They will match capital to lower case letters.
    3. Students will click on the correct Mommy (or Daddy) Letter Kangaroo for each joey. When the student clicks on the correct letter match, they will hear the letter name.

Evaluation: Teacher observation of the student’s active participation and understanding of the task will be evaluated.
