Title: Counting With Critters
Subject:
Math
Grade Level: Kindergarten

Overview: Students will work in math-based centers. At the computer activity, they will strengthen their number identification and counting skills.

Purpose: This fun-filled activity will allow students to explore fundamental math concepts while they are learning their numbers.

Resources and Materials: Everyday Math - Teacher’s Edition, counting activities, math manipulative

Go to Number Machine #25 under the math heading - to Counting with Critters.

Activities:
1. Students will recognize and read numerals 0 - 20 with the help of some very cute critters.
2. As the student clicks on a number they will hear the critter counting out the number.
3. Students can join the fun by chanting or singing the numbers orally along with the critters.
4. Students will gain additional computer practice by using the mouse.

Evaluation: As students are completing the activity, the teacher should monitor for participation and understanding of the task.
