Summer Reading Challenge!

Twenty minutes a day is all it takes to build key reading skills.

We are encouraging continued reading over the summer with the following incentives:

• Children reading 14 days out of 37 in June/July or July/August will receive a Smencil.
  
• Children reading 22 days out of 37 in June/July will receive a Smencil and a Pizza Party with the Principal!
  
• Children reading 22 days out of 37 in July/Aug will receive a Smencil and Extra Recess with the Principal!

Here are a few ways to build a better reader!

• Create reading rituals and read together every day
• Talk about the pictures and ask questions
• Read with expression!
• Snuggle up close with a book
• Share different kinds of books
• Read favorite books again and again and again
