Welcome to Oak Lawn Hometown Middle School, the home to all of District 123's sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. As a learning community our goal is to provide each of our students with programs and a supportive educational environment that recognizes their own individual characteristics and fully prepares them for a successful transition into high school.

Each student at OLHMS is offered a full range of academic and extracurricular programs. Our instructional programs include opportunities for students with exceptional needs and a variety of support programs that are available before, during, and after school.

OLHMS offers a wide variety of extracurricular programs, including interscholastic and intramural sports, general clubs and activities, and service-oriented organizations such as Student Council and National Junior Honor Society. A complete instrumental and vocal music program is available before school hours to interested students.

We look forward to working closely with our school families and encourage them to become actively involved in the educational experience at Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School.

MISSON STATEMENT

The mission of Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School is to provide a disciplined, nurturing and safe educational environment. We believe in striving to meet the needs of our diverse learners, while preparing each student to meet the challenges that high school will bring. Through the efforts of a highly qualified and motivated staff, our students will strive to meet or exceed State Goals and Standards, demonstrate the ability to solve problems, and perform tasks requiring higher level thinking skills. We are further committed to establishing working relationships with community organizations in order to seek their involvement and support in our day-to-day endeavors. Finally, it is our belief that when parents, teachers, staff and community work together cooperatively, excellence in education for all students will result.
