Welcome to 8th Grade Language Arts

Welcome to my website, which is designed to inform you of the procedures, events, and learning activities for the 2012-2013 school year.

The purpose of this course is to open students' minds and foster enjoyment and a deeper understanding of literature and writing. Through the use of current instructional models and technology, we set high expectations that align with the Common Core Standards. These practices develop balanced literacy skills and promote life-long learning. This year students will be held to high expectations with a challenging and thought-provoking curriculum.

Please refer to the Classroom Pages in the grey box on the right side of this screen. There you will find very useful information that will help make this a successful year for 8th grade students. There are various course links and documents that students will find very useful.
