Thank you to the PTA, Mrs. Lipczynski and committee members, and all our families for the wonderful expressions of appreciation during Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week!  The daily surprises were so much fun.  I know I speak for the entire Sward Staff when I say “Our PTA is the absolute BEST!”

Many thanks to our Sward Girl Scouts for their year-long project to beautify the grounds of the school.  The flagpole garden in the front of the school always looks AMAZING because of the dedication of the Girl Scouts and their Leaders.  Thanks again for caring so much!

SUMMER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT CLASSES are now open for enrollment!  Take a look online at www.d123.org on the Parents page.  Click the link for “summer school registration” and you’ll see the 6-page brochure outlining all of the fun courses and explaining how to enroll.  If you do not have access to the Internet, please give us a call at 423-7820 and we’ll be happy to send home the paper brochure (trying to be green!)

This THURSDAY is POPSICLE Day!  Be sure your child has returned the permission form before Thursday.  No form, no popsicle (forms were sent home last week with dietary information listed).

Calling all golfers!  The Educational Foundation is looking for golfers to participate in its annual Golf Outing on June 14^th.  Please go to the website for information or call our District Office at 423-0150.  Hope you can be there!

The District 123 Educational Foundation is holding its 3^rd annual Raffle Basket fundraiser until June 9^th!  Parents and community members may purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win Sward’s terrific assortment of treasures.  Included in this year’s Basket is a private “Pizza with the Principal” lunch for your Sward child and 5 friends, “Pizza FROM the Principal” delivered to your house by the Principal; a free copy of the 2012-13 Sward Yearbook, a membership to the Sward PTA, a reserved parking space for the 2012-13 Open House on 9/5/12, four front row seats and a reserved parking space for both the Winter and Spring concerts, along with Sward t-shirts and flannel pants for the family (2 adult sizes and 2 youth sizes).  Tickets are available in the school office; 1 ticket is $1; 6 tickets are $5, and 15 tickets are $10!  Please stop by the office or send an envelope to the office with payment for the number of tickets you’d like.  We’ll fill out the tickets for you and send you the other half!  Thanks very much!
