iPad Apps

District 123 utilizes iPads for students in the primary grades to help build essential, emerging numeracy and literacy skills. iPads can also be used to help students create content to demonstrate understanding and transfer of learning. 	ABA Problem Solver- What Rhymes?	Rhyming is a basic component of phonics and a very important pre-reading skill that prepares young children for spelling and decoding words. Teaching rhyming words in preschool and kindergarten can help set a solid base for reading comprehension later on.
	Fish School- Duck Duck Moose	1) LETTERS – Learn your ABCs! 	Blendseeker	Teach your 4 -6 year old child to read with this fun and powerful learning game. Using the highly successful phonics method for teaching reading and spelling, Blend Seeker holds your child's hand as they start to blend individual sounds together: an important early step in becoming a successful reader. They will, for example, hearing the sounds c and r at the beginning of the word crab.
	Word Bingo	Listen to the word the BINGO Bug speaks and tap on the corresponding word on the screen. Get four words correct vertically, horizontally or diagonally to get BINGO and win! The quicker you get BINGO the better your score. Your score is based on time and the lower the score, the better. Earn a BINGO Bug when you beat your best score.

	Math Bingo	Math Bingo saves player information with custom player profiles. Each player profile consists of a unique name (up to 20 characters) and a fun cartoon avatar. The player profiles display total number of games played, total number of high scores achieved, and total number of Bingo Bugs collected. The guest profile does not store any information and therefore cannot achieve high scores or collect Bingo Bugs. The guest profile is useful for adults who want to play Math Bingo without their scores going into the scoreboard.

	Tic Tac Math	Your kids are going to beg you for math learning with Tic Tac Math. This unique app combines the time-tested, kid approved favorite Tic Tac Toe game with math equations for an educationally fun experience. 	Pizza Fractions: Beginning With Simple Fractions	In chef's pizzeria your child masters the concept of naming simple fractions using pizza picture examples. Designed for grade levels 2-6, Pizza Fractions provides introductory practice with fractions in an approachable game-like environment.
	Geometry (Mathomatix)	Punflay’s Mathomatix series is back! Punflay is adding another app to its popular Mathomatix series. This time it is all about introducing your child to basic geometrical shapes. We are excited to be launching Mathomatix-Geometry.
	Motion Math	Developed at the Stanford School of Education, Motion Math HD follows a star that has fallen from space, and must bound back up, up, up to its home in the stars. Moving fractions to their correct place on the number line is the only way to return. By playing Motion Math, learners improve their ability to perceive and estimate fractions in multiple forms.
