A Special Year at OLHMS

OLHMS staff members and their children who attend OLHMS

The 2026–2027 school year is an unprecedented one at Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School! Nearly 20 current OLHMS staff members are not only educators and support staff in the building—they are also OLHMS parents, with their own children attending school alongside the students they serve each day.

This remarkable number speaks volumes about the belief our staff has in the mission and values of District 123 and OLHMS. Our staff members believe in our school community so strongly that they trust us with their own children’s education.

From the classroom to the hallways and beyond, OLHMS is more than just a workplace for these staff members—it is a community they are proud to call home. Their commitment to our students extends beyond their professional roles and reflects the strong sense of trust, pride, and belonging that makes OLHMS such a special place.

After all, there truly is no place like OLHMS!
