The Early Learning Center recently welcomed families for a special Stay and Play Day on the playground. The event gave families the chance to meet one another, enjoy time outdoors, and see a piece of their child’s day through their eyes. Students were so proud to guide their families around the playground to their favorite areas.
To add to the fun, students and families wore their classroom color, creating a bright rainbow across the playground. This simple touch gave everyone a sense of belonging and made it easy to spot new friends from their child’s classroom.
The day highlighted the power of free outdoor play, which helps children grow in so many ways, from building healthy bodies and sparking creativity to strengthening friendships and boosting confidence. Unstructured outdoor time lets children take the lead, use their imaginations, and learn naturally with no planned activities needed!
Family involvement is also an important part of the ELC experience. Events like this give children a sense of pride and connection, while giving families a chance to see firsthand how play supports learning and development.
One parent shared,
“The kids loved the bouncy house and dancing to songs. The kids loved getting to be the boss and show their families what they do every day.”
The event was a huge success! 100% of families surveyed said they would attend a similar event in the future. The ELC can’t wait for the next opportunity for families to connect, play, and learn together!
