Supporting Your Child's Literacy Journey

January 15, 6:30-7:30 PM | District Office, 4201 W 93rd St, Oak Lawn

Join us for an engaging and informative parent event, Supporting Your Child’s Literacy Journey (Grades K–8), designed to help families better understand how reading and writing develop across the elementary and middle school years.

During this session, District 123 educators will provide an overview of our core literacy programs, specifically Fundations, Amplify CKLA, and HMH Into Literature. We will discuss how each program supports students’ growth in foundational skills, reading comprehension, and writing. Families will gain insight into what literacy instruction looks like at each grade level, learn practical ways to support literacy at home, and have the opportunity to ask questions. We look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s literacy success.

2025-26 Parent University Schedule

In our Parent University sessions, District 123 staff and administration will highlight various aspects of our curriculum as well as opportunities to discuss our district’s School Safety protocols, Early Learning programming, Special Education programming, the importance of recreational learning, and the District’s Portrait of a Graduate. We firmly believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential to a child’s success. Your involvement, support, and communication are invaluable to us.
