The Early Learning Center celebrated its first Fall Festival with a day full of exploring, learning, and family fun! Memory Lane Stables Petting Zoo joined us for the day, bringing three horses for riding and a variety of friendly farm animals for the children to brush and feed, including an adorable pig that one student lovingly named “Grumpy.”

Students explored a variety of hands-on activities such as a sensory corn pit, dancing, a windy adventure in our wind tunnel and interactive wind tube, and a tasty popcorn treat. Thanks to the Oak Lawn and Hometown Police and Fire Departments, children also had the unforgettable opportunity to sit inside a real police car, fire truck, and ambulance!

We were thrilled to welcome special visitors from the Oak Lawn Children’s Museum, as well as a nutritionist from the Oak Lawn CEDA WIC office. Nurse Kristin stopped by too, sending everyone home with toothbrushes to help brush away those “sugar bugs!"

Before heading home, each child picked out a pumpkin to take with them. It was a wonderful day filled with laughter, learning, and memories shared with family and friends. We can’t wait to do it again next year! Special thanks to our ELC staff and Farmer Fred for setting up this spectacular experience for our Little Lions and families!
Director Christine Fuller commented on the event, stating,
"It was just pure magic! There were horses dressed as unicorns and kids squealing in delight. It was amazing to have representatives from the Oak Lawn Children's Museum in attendance as well as two lovely people from the CEDA WIC office and I look forward to future partnerships and great work ahead with these organizations. Big thanks to everyone involved in the tremendous work that went into putting on this event, including our local Farmer Fred for the front entrance decorations, pumpkins, cornpit and other festive decor, the Oak Lawn and Hometown Police and Fire Department, and of course our amazing staff that puts in the work for our students every day. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
