Students Roll Into Learning with a Box Car Drive-In Movie

Students, along with their families, turned imagination into motion during a special Box Car Drive-In Movie celebration, marking the end of the Box Study.

As part of the study, students explored how boxes can be transformed, engineered, and reimagined. To bring their learning to life, each student worked with their family to design and build a “car” entirely out of boxes. The creative vehicles ranged from race cars and trucks to colorful cruisers, all carefully crafted with paint, wheels, and personal touches.

On celebration day, the Family Resource Center transformed into a drive-in theater. Students “drove” their box cars in, parked side by side, and enjoyed a movie together with their classmates. The Box Car Drive-In was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and learning. Through the Box Study, students developed problem-solving skills, practiced teamwork, and discovered how everyday materials can spark big ideas.

The event proved that learning can be hands-on, meaningful, and joyful, especially when it comes in a box.
