ELC Book Fair Raises Funds to Put Books in Every Child’s Hands

The Early Learning Center turned the page on an exciting new chapter last week, hosting our very first book fair in partnership with Bookie's New and Used Books and the results were nothing short of inspiring!

Held over three days in the Family Resource Center of the ELC, the book fair welcomed a strong turnout of 85 families, in addition to students who eagerly shopped alongside their teachers and dedicated volunteers. The event created a warm, community-centered atmosphere where a shared love of reading brought families, staff, and students together.

Thanks to this incredible support, the ELC raised just over $900. These funds will go directly back into the hands of students in a meaningful way, as we will purchase books from Bookie’s that will be gifted to every child at the ELC during a special celebration on April 30 in honor of Día de los Niños y Libros. This beloved day celebrates children and the joy of reading, making it the perfect opportunity to place new books into the hands of young learners. In addition to individual student gifts, proceeds will also help expand and enrich classroom libraries across the ELC, ensuring that high-quality, engaging literature is accessible to all students year-round.

The book fair featured a wide variety of titles for every kind of reader, including sturdy board books for the youngest learners, bilingual books that reflect and celebrate our diverse community, drawing and activity books to inspire creativity, and even a selection for grown-ups.

The success of this first-ever book fair highlights the ELC community’s commitment to fostering a love of reading from an early age. With full shelves and excited readers, the impact of this event will continue well beyond the final checkout.
