Teaching about the Past to Ignite Tomorrow's Future

Words are Power

Words are power bulletin board for Black History Month.

For the last several weeks, students have been learning about Black History month. From the Civil War to Civil rights students have learned about Black activists who have helped write history with non-violence.

The past several years at Covington we have talked about how Words are Power. While learning about each activist, students have also been learning about the importance of their words. Words are power and can make a difference no matter how big or small.

Our wonderful Grade 3 teacher, Mrs. Uzandenis created this wonderful bulletin board in our main hallway that showcases Black Activists past and present. She has also included famous quotes to highlight how their words have made an impact.

Teaching about past and present Black World Changers has truly ignited our Future World Changers!
