Students planting seeds

On Friday Covington celebrated Earth Day!

Grade 2 students read the classic story of Miss Rumphius, then they all planted seeds including Lupines and watermelon! Students talked about ways to make the world a more beautiful place. In the story, Miss Rumphius plants Lupine seeds in second grade we talked about how we can recycle, pick up trash, reuse certain objects and try to buy goods that are not in plastic.

In Grade 3, students made an Earth Day craft and wrote about why they love Earth. While Grade 1 students read the Lorax and wrote about different ways they could help the Earth!
