Our Covington 2nd graders brought stories to life this week as they wrapped up their CKLA unit on Fairy Tales and Tall Tales with a special dress up day. From crowns and capes to cowboy hats and boots, the hallways were filled with creative costumes inspired by the characters they’ve been reading about.
Throughout the unit, students explored classic fairy tales filled with magic and lessons, as well as tall tales starring larger-than-life characters like Paul Bunyan and Pecos Bill. To celebrate their hard work, teachers encouraged students to dress as their favorite characters and the kids did not disappoint!
The day was more than just fun costumes. It was a chance for students to step into the shoes of the heroes, heroines, and legends they’ve been studying, deepening their understanding of story elements, character traits, and themes.
Covington celebrates our students’ creativity and excitement for learning and we love seeing their imaginations shine! Way to go, 2nd graders!
