On Tuesday, October 1, Covington Elementary was buzzing with excitement as families gathered for our annual STEAM Night. This year’s theme was flowers in bloom, and the halls were filled with creativity, and hands-on learning.
Students and their families rotated through stations led by Covington teachers, each combining science, technology, engineering, art, and math in fun and engaging ways. Children watched paper flowers bloom in water, designed number sense petals, launched butterfly and bee rockets, explored magnet magic, and built flower shapes out of Magna-Tiles. Families also created colorful suncatchers, beaded pipe-cleaner flowers, and more to take home as keepsakes.
The success of STEAM Night was made possible by the dedication of Covington staff, who volunteered their time and talents to bring each activity to life. From gathering materials to guiding families at every station, teachers worked together to ensure an unforgettable evening.
Events like STEAM Night highlight the Covington community’s commitment to making learning joyful and interactive. Thank you to all the families who joined us and to the many teachers whose efforts helped our students’ curiosity and creativity truly blossom!
