This week at Covington School, our halls are filled with color, love, and remembrance as we celebrate Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. Staff came together to create a beautiful ofrenda, an altar honoring the lives of those who have passed. Many members of our school community shared photos of their loved ones, from children and parents to grandparents and uncles, each picture a reminder of the special people who continue to live on in our hearts.
The ofrenda is decorated with bright marigolds, candles, and traditional elements that symbolize love, memory, and family connection. It serves as both a cultural learning experience and a heartfelt celebration of the people who shaped our lives.
At Covington, we take pride in honoring and celebrating the traditions of our families. Events like this allow our students to see that every culture brings something beautiful to our community. Together, we remember, we celebrate, and we keep our loved ones’ stories alive — because at Covington, family is at the heart of everything we do.
