Hometown Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

Viva la Mexico!

Tuesday, September 15 started a month long Hispanic heritage celebration.  Grades K-8 will be bringing this month long celebration into classrooms in a variety of ways.  Teachers will be sharing stories such as The Palatero Man by Lucky Diaz and Friday Kahlo by Isabel Sanchez Vegara. Students will create art projects, watch videos and focus on what is important in the Hispanic culture: family, faith and food.  Hometown Elementary looks forward to celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America this month.
