Holiday Fun at Hometown

A Special Surprise

Santa, the Grinch and Dr. Bencik the Elf all made a surprise visit to see the Hometown students.

December brought a lot of fun activities at Hometown. The countdown to winter break calendar gave students and staff time to spread holiday cheer!  Teachers were treated to a hot cocoa bar and breakfast from the PTA.  Our Hometown PTA does an amazing job of planning events for both the teachers and the kids.  The PTA held our annual Holiday Shop, where students were given the chance to purchase gifts for their friends and families.  This shop is always a huge hit with all the kids.  Teachers and students gave back to those less fortunate through different collections of food and gift cards for Almost Home Ministries.  Kids received a visit from the Grinch, Santa and his favorite elf, Dr. Bencik.  Students and staff wore holiday pjs and crazy socks.  They dressed in red, green and winter blue.  Parents were treated to a holiday concert led by our music teacher, Mrs. Rebecca Hemminger, with students in grades K, 1, and 2 performing along with our chorus.  Although December was a busy month, it was also a great time for students and staff to reflect on how blessed we have been in 2022 and how we look forward to all the amazing things ahead in 2023.
