I Spy Spring!

Students were able to pet a bunny

This little one was so excited to pet this sweet baby bunny.

Kindergarteners at Hometown Elementary enjoyed a beautiful day at Lake Katherine on April 18.  The sun was shining on the lake, as these little ones explored all about Spring.  The students were broken up into groups and explored "I Spy Spring!" stations.  These stations included sorting spring seeds, measuring different items you would find in nature, leaf rubbings and even make seedling necklaces.  The next stop was the animal museum in the lower part of the building, where students got to pet a baby bunny, a friendly snake and watch a turtle scoot across the floor.  Next up on the agenda, was a nature walk with Mr. Drew around the lake.  Students were able to see buds on the trees, flowers peeking up out of the ground, and insects crawling around outside.  The weather was gorgeous! A special thank you to Lake Katherine for hosting this field trip.  The students had a wonderful time!
