Open House & Ice Cream Social – A Sweet Start to the School Year

Families filled they gym to kick off the evening.

On September 4, Hometown Elementary was buzzing with excitement as we welcomed families into the building for our annual Open House, made even sweeter by an Ice Cream Social hosted by our amazing PTA. The evening began outside, where families gathered to enjoy a scoop of ice cream, connect with other parents, and chat with staff in a relaxed and friendly setting. The PTA did a fantastic job organizing the event and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

Following the Ice Cream Social, families were invited inside for our Curriculum Night. Classrooms were filled with proud students eager to show off their desks, supplies, and the work they’ve already started. Teachers gave overviews of the curriculum, classroom expectations, and exciting things planned for the year ahead. It was a wonderful opportunity for parents to connect with teachers, ask questions, and get a glimpse into the learning environment their children experience every day.

Special teachers, support staff, and school leaders were also available to meet with families and share resources. It was truly a full-school event that highlighted the strong partnerships between home and school that make our community so special. Events like this remind us how important it is to stay connected and celebrate the journey of learning together.

A big thank-you to our PTA for their generosity and to all the families who joined us. Your presence and involvement mean so much. We’re excited for the year ahead and grateful to start it with such a strong sense of community and school spirit!
