Parents and students enjoyed browsing the Scholastic Book Fair during our Touch a Truck event.
Hometown Elementary was buzzing with excitement as families gathered for a fun-filled evening that brought together these special events: the Scholastic Book Fair and an exciting Touch-A-Truck experience. The building and school grounds were alive with energy as students, parents, and staff came together to celebrate reading, learning, and community connections.
The Scholastic Book Fair was a week long event where students were able to shop during the school day or at the Touch a Truck event. It was a huge hit with students and families. Tables were filled with colorful displays of books for every age and interest—from early readers and graphic novels to inspiring nonfiction and beloved chapter books. Students eagerly browsed the shelves, many creating wish lists or proudly choosing a book to take home. The fair not only encouraged a love of reading but also supported the school by raising funds for classroom libraries and literacy resources. Teachers were able to make a wish list and add to their classroom libraries thanks to our amazing PTA.
Adding to the excitement was a Touch-A-Truck event stationed outside during the Book Fair. Families had the chance to explore real vehicles up close—including fire trucks, police cars, and service trucks. There was even a taco truck available! Students loved climbing inside, honking horns, and meeting the local professionals who operate them. It added a hands-on, interactive element that made the evening extra memorable for everyone.
A big thank-you goes out to our PTA and local first responders who helped bring this event to life. It was a night filled with joy, learning, and strong school spirit!
