Sward staff and students have welcomed several new faces to our school and we will be introducing each of them to you over the next few weeks. Our first new Sward teacher we would like to introduce is Ms. Tasneem Rayyan who joins our 3rd grade team. We decided to interview Ms. Rayyan to get to know a little bit more about her. We hope you will get the chance to meet Ms. Rayyan in person at Sward's open house coming up next week, so please stop by and introduce yourself. We know you'll love her the minute you meet her!
Where did you go to school?
I went to school at Saint Xavier University!
Who inspired you to be a teacher?
I originally went to college with the goal of being a pediatric dentist, but one of my professors, Amani Wazwaz, made me feel like I was a part of a true classroom community. Her classroom felt safe, comforting and I learned so much from her. She made me want to let kids feel the same way with me.
How long have you been a teacher?
This is my first year teaching!
What is your favorite thing to teach?
I love teaching science. I love learning about how the world works and the beauty behind it.
What do you want Sward students to know about you?
I want them to know that I am so happy and feel so lucky to be their teacher!!
