Happy Retirement!

Congratulations

After 32 incredible years, yes you heard me correctly 32 amazing years at SWARD,  Ms Abbott is retiring!

Ms Abbott has been an amazing 1st-grade teacher whose passion, patience, and dedication have touched the hearts of generations of families within the Sward community. Her classroom has always been a place of laughter, learning, and love — where every child felt seen, supported, and encouraged to grow.

Students and staff celebrated her by wearing green, her favorite color!

Her impact goes far beyond the classroom, and while she will be dearly missed, we are so excited for her next chapter!

An acrostic poem Sward students wrote about Ms. Abbott:

A-Always patient, guiding with care

B-Believes in each child, always fair.

B-Builds bright minds with love and grace,

O-Opens hearts in her classroom space.

T-Teaches more than books can show,

T-Touches lives and helps them grow.

Sward celebrated and honored our amazing custodian Mrs. Tylka on her retirement!  She’s been the heart of our school—keeping everything running smoothly, always with a smile, and making a difference in so many lives.

Students and staff wore red to show our love and appreciation for all she’s done.
Wishing her a retirement filled with joy, relaxation, and everything she loves most.

Thank you for everything, you will be deeply missed!

Mrs. Kitlarz’s 5th Grade Class wrote this poem in her honor:

M=Maintained a bright and cheery environment through her hard work and dedication to students and staff

R=Rain or shine, always ensured the grounds were safe for all

S=Skilled at solving any problem that came her way

T=Thoroughly and professionally performed her job

from start to finish

Y=Yearning to enjoy free time and family during retirement

L=Leaving behind difficult shoes to fill because there’s no one

like Mrs. Tylka

K=Kind and friendly to all; always a smile and a friendly,

“How you doin’?”

A=Always in our hearts; we will miss her dearly

Ms. Abbott and Mrs. Tylka thank you for your dedication to D123, We will miss you both.
